1. Vertical suspension


Silicon molybdenum rods are highly brittle at room temperature and have plasticity at high temperatures. So the best installation method for U-shaped silicon molybdenum rods is vertical suspension. Hang the silicon molybdenum rod vertically on the furnace top through a fixed clamp. The purpose of this installation is to avoid applying mechanical stress to the heating end of the silicon molybdenum rod, otherwise it may easily cause the fracture of the silicon molybdenum rod.



2. Fixing clip


The weight of the entire silicon molybdenum rod is borne by the fixed clamp, and the position of the silicon molybdenum rod is also determined by it. Therefore, careful installation is necessary to ensure that the components are vertically suspended. To avoid local overheating, the conical part of the lower end of the silicon molybdenum rod must extend into the furnace.



3. Connection strap


The connecting wires in contact with silicon molybdenum rods are made of aluminum braided tape or multi-layer aluminum foil. The clamp on the outside only serves as a clamp and does not need to conduct electricity. The end of the wire is connected to the busbar. In order to avoid mechanical stress being transmitted to the silicon molybdenum rod, the length of the wire should be slightly greater than the linear distance between the silicon molybdenum rod and the busbar.


When installing components, do not tighten the screws on the chuck too tightly at once. Wait until the silicon molybdenum rod rises to high temperature before tightening, as the silicon molybdenum rod has a certain degree of plasticity and is not easy to break. The temperature of the chuck should generally not exceed 200 degrees Celsius. Therefore, the contact voltage between the clamp wire and the silicon molybdenum rod should be reduced by 0.1V. To avoid radiative heat transfer to the chuck, the distance between the lower end of the chuck and the top of the brick should not be less than 50mm. To avoid damage, generally, silicon molybdenum rods with a diameter of 6/12mm cannot be used for 170A for a long time, and silicon molybdenum rods with a diameter of 9/18mm cannot be used for 300A for a long time.
